Meet Dr. Syed Amiry

 

Syed Amiry, DO

Dr. Syed Amiry is a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with a passion for combining the art and science of skin medicine with the latest technologies available to help patients achieve optimal, personalized results. He has practiced aesthetic and anti-aging medicine for many years, and has expertise in cosmetic fillers, Botox, and lasers for facial rejuvenation. He enjoys the process of guiding patients, from addressing their initial concerns to helping them maintain a lifetime of optimal skin health.

Equally respected by his peers and patients, Dr. Amiry is a member of The American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and The Medical Society of Northern Virginia. He is frequently called upon to offer his expertise to the media, including Fox Morning News, Women’s Health and New Beauty, among others. In 2011, he was voted Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine.

Dr. Amiry has conducted research on a range of topics from lasers to vein therapy. Articles detailing the results of his research have been published in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals including The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery.

He received his medical degree from AT Still University in Kirksville, MO, with emphasis on both traditional teachings and the Holistic Osteopathic Philosophy of Integrating Mind and Body. He completed his Dermatology residency at Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, where he was honored as Chief Resident. Dr. Amiry is the recipient of specialized training limited to only 13 programs across the country, in Cosmetic, Laser and Skin Cancer Surgery (Mohs) at Dermatology Associates of San Diego, under the guidance of world-renowned dermatologists Dr. Fitzpatrick, Dr. Goldman, Dr. Tse and Dr. Butterwick.

Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Amiry practiced dermatology at the prestigious Murad Medical Group in Los Angeles, counting among his clients prominent members of the entertainment industry. In addition to his practice, he currently serves on the adjunct clinical faculty at the Pikesville College School of Osteopathic Medicine and serves as an educator and lecturer for both Medicis and Alma Lasers, guiding other physicians in the use and advancement of fillers, Dysport, and lasers.

He founded Reston Dermatology in 2003, and currently treats a wide range of cosmetic and general dermatology patients.
